“We Persist” An Evening of Storytelling for Moms Demand Action
From leading marches and trips to Congress to exposing sexual harassment and assault to stepping up to run for office in record numbers, women have been leading the resistance and fighting hardest for every important issue threatened by the 45th presidency.
To celebrate incredible women and gear up for the ongoing fight, Art, Humanity & Action: We Persist featured female-presenting storytellers for a night of uplifting, inspiring, and funny personal stories and songs about persistence. Performers included Michele Carlo, Jasmine Fernandez, Nicole Ferraro, Cyndi Freeman, Leslie Goshko, Susan Kent, Jen Kwok, Sandi Marx, Vanessa Valerio, Sydnee Washington, and Angel Yau.
We Persist was also a platform to recruit support for women-led organizations, featuring partners and speakers: Councilwoman Carlina Rivera, Co-Founder of Women of Color for Progress; Brette McSweeney, President of Eleanor’s Legacy; and Laura House, Brooklyn Community Outreach Lead, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. We Persist raised $2215 for Moms Demand Action.
