Live Event
An Evening of Stories Supporting the Anti-Violence Project
In the aftermath of the 2016 election, to help bridge divides and remind us there’s more that unites us when we listen to each other’s stories, the first Art, Humanity & Action event in December 2016 featured 14 of New York City’s best storytellers sharing personal stories about love, compassion, and overcoming differences.
Performers included Erin Barker, Jean Le Bec, Marie Faustin, Elana Lancaster, Brad Lawrence, Sandi Marx, Asher Novek, Mark Pagan, Thomas Pryor, Jeff Rose, Tracey Miller Segara, Gail Thomas, Jimmy Wohl, and Angel Yau.
The event also served as a platform to raise awareness for organizations in need, with speakers including:
Dr. Debbie Almontaser, President of the Board of Directors, The Muslim Community Network (MCN)
Jarrell Brandon, Political Organizer, Planned Parenthood
Asher Novek, Volunteer, Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ)
The first Art, Humanity & Action event was held at the LGBT Center in NYC and raised $1100 for the Anti-Violence Project.
